February 9, 2019 – The Family Is a Gift is delighted to partner with Montessori Integrated School, Antipolo City once again for organizing a series of Parenting Seminars – this time, in understanding the basics of mental health condition.
The program started off with an icebreaker conducted by the FIG team, where participating parents received freebies such as Ablaze Statement Shirts, Family Time magazines, and Family Is a Gift car stickers. Mr. Dennis Manapat, Vice President of MIS-MCH Parent’s Organization led the opening prayer and after, Ms. Emmie C. Panganiban, PhD., President of the MIS-MCH parents’ organization, gave the opening remarks.
The session was headed by Ms. Margarette Pangilinan, therapist of Porta Coeli Center for Psychotrauma Management and Pastoral Counseling, and the new accompaniment counselor for Couples for Christ. She gave her insights on what trauma, stress and anxiety means and how it manifests to a person. She encouraged our parents and those who experience mental health condition to live out the “Five Ways to Well Being” – to connect, give, take notice, keep learning, and be active.
